Student Work

In every one of my classes, students lead the way.

  • Always doing the intellectual work, students identify problems that need to be solved, conceptualize the projects that will help solve those problems, and then execute on those projects.

    There’s a former institution for people with intellectual disabilities directly abutting our school campus. The students asked: What is our responsibility to ensure that its story and the stories of the people in it are told and not forgotten? They built a museum of disability history, published articles, created websites, and wrote a book that did just that.

    The story of the Holocaust is being forgotten and not told with nuance. How can we help fix that? The students staged plays and produced exhibits, playbills, and websites to accompany the performances.
